Η Ζάκυνθος, ή το Φιόρο του Λεβάντε (= Άνθος της Ανατολής) κατά τους Βενετσιάνους, είναι ένα από τα νησιά των Επτανήσων. Είναι το ενδέκατο σε έκταση νησί στην Ελλάδα, καθώς και το τρίτο σε έκταση (μετά την Κεφαλονιά και την Κέρκυρα) και δεύτερο σε πληθυσμό νησί στα Επτάνησα. Η έκτασή της είναι 406 τ. χλμ και ο πληθυσμός ανέρχεται στους 40.758 κατοίκους (απογραφή 2011). Από την Πελοπόννησο απέχει 15 ναυτ. μίλια (από την Κυλλήνη του Νομού Ηλείας) και 8,5 ναυτ. μίλια από το πλησιέστερο βόρεια σε αυτή νησί, την Κεφαλονιά.
Zakynthos, or the Fior the Levante (= Flower of the East) according to the Venetians, is one of the islands of the Ionian Islands.
